The faces behind Digital Design Duo
Chelsea and Mariah are sisters originally from St. Anthony, Idaho and have always been close friends. They both have several years' experience in a variety of types of digital design. Mariah specializes in graphic design and Chelsea specializes in web design, though both of them have skills in all areas of digital design. Mariah has had Etsy and RedBubble shops selling her designs since 2019 and Chelsea has wanted to be a freelance web designer. The two sisters came together to create Digital Design Duo and help each other out with each of their design goals.
Chelsea has been doing digital design since 2013 starting with a desktop publishing class in high school. From there she took graphic design and a yearbook class that designed the school yearbook. In 2019 she began to learn basic HTML, CSS, and Bootstrap and got a job with a digital library helping create digital library collection websites. In 2021 she took several online classes expanding her HTML, CSS, and Bootstrap skills, while also learning JavaScript. She earned a certificate in each of these web coding languages.
Chelsea's full-time job is working in the mining archives and data preservation program for the Montana Bureau of Mines and Geology in Butte, Montana. Her work focus is digitizing and preserving historic mining and geology records for current mining and geology work. She builds online web collections for researchers from these historic documents. Chelsea has received a B.A. and M.A. in Anthropology and Archaeology and also teaches classes in sociology and anthropology at Montana Technical University.
Mariah started learning digital design in 2013 as she took several desktop publishing and design classes in high school. In 2015 she became the lead design editor for the school yearbook. As time went on, she practiced freelance design, photography, videography, and other art both in college classes and in her spare time. Despite always wanting to be a graphic designer, Mariah changed her focus in college several times. Mariah has received an A.A. in Behavioral Science and a B.S. in Digital Media and UX/UI design.
In 2019 Mariah started as a freelance designer specializing in both creative and business designs. In addition to digital design, Mariah loves all things crafts, arts, and diy. She also opened an online store on Etsy, Redbubble, and Square to sell both her digital designs and handmade crafts/home decor. She has designed eBooks, logos, and branding material for several business owners. She loves working with clients to design custom material for their personal or professional lives.
